He made three six-inch circular guards of Mokume-gane; three ten-inch reticulated cylinders, three two and a half inch double domed beads for the pommel of the sword. The sword maker was intrigued. Sebastian fitted the pieces of metal together with steel wire, applied flux solder and fused the hilts together in an atmospheric kiln.
